Landslides in the Portland metropolitan area resulting from the storm in February 1996.
The rain on snow climatic event of February 6–9, 1996, caused an extensive number of landslides in addition to the flooding. Comparing landslide distributions and damage to past climatic events, this series of landslides appears to have been a 100-year event. The report is a detailed look at the landslides that were triggered by this event.
This report was prepared by the Department of Geology, Portland State University under contract with Metro.
