Why walk?

  • Walking is good for you, your wallet and the planet. Did you know a quarter of all trips made in the U.S. can be done with a 20-minute walk?
  • If you drive less, you save money on gasoline, parking and wear and tear on your vehicle. Next time you're heading for your local coffee shop, try walking, you may find it's not as far as you thought.
  • Walking increases your energy level and helps you lose or maintain weight. Mile for mile, you can burn as many calories walking as you would jogging, but with far less stress on your joints.
  • Reduce your carbon footprint by walking for short trips. So put on a pair of good shoes and head out the door!
